Last year's Scott Cup top three have all retained their positions 2017-18, with a runaway victory for Paul & Helen Gipson and Janet Beattie & Ros French - all four of their "counting" results were 1st places!  Runners-up were once again Brian Thomas & George Martin and Jean Mole & Penny Davidson, and third place was retained by Garneth Ellis & Sandy Moor and Kitty Home Robertson & Christine Mccreath.  Congratulations to all three teams, and to all ten teams (plus the eleven players who acted as substitutes when required!) who took part.

In the Tom Woodman, by contrast, the very structure of the competition - with teams being randomly drawn - produced lots of new names.  Two members of the winning team, Colin Edney & Ros French, were on last year's winning team, but were joined this year by Kitty Home Robertson & Susan Smith.  Second place went to Marguerite Robson & Tony Oates and their partners Sheila Pearson and Joan Tait (though sadly for Joan she was only able to play in two of the seven rounds of the competition), and in third place were Linda Warcup & Peter Calder (runners-up last year) and their partners this year Kelvin Butler & Pat McQueen.  Congratulations to all.
