In this weekend's SBU Winter Foursomes, Paul and his team (brother Alex, Brian Short and Alan Goodman) failed to win for the third time in a row playing face-to-face when they lost in the final to the MORAN team (Sara Moran, Andrew McIntosh, James Thrower, Abi Milne). The match was not close.

Storm Éowyn meant that the Friday evening play was cancelled and the event was constricted to two days. This meant that the Saturday was a little random with shorter matches, but Paul's team managed to survive with the loss of just one life.

In the semifinal they won comfortably against two of Scotland's Open pairs but failed to make a significant impression in the final.

Paul and Alex have played in the final on nine of the last twelve times they've played in Scotland's premier weekend tournament.
