The Laws of Duplicate Bridge are updated every ten years and the 2017 Laws will be used worldwide by the end September 2017: the Scottish Bridge Union is adopting the new laws from 1 September and the club will switch to them on Tuesday 5 September.
A lot of the changes this time are minor, clarifying meaning and resolving ambiguities in the 2007 Laws. This means that they will affect directors more than players.
You can download the new laws in their entirety from the WBF website.
Paul Gipson has produced a summary of the major changes (PDF) as they are likely to affect club members. If you have any questions then please ask a Director or contact Paul.
The EBU has an excellent site on the new laws with information for players and directors. The SBU will also be providing guidance.
