With the McDonald Cup competition now completed, another close finish has been recorded.  Colin Edney and Penny Davidson, who won this event last season, have once again come in as winners, but two pairs - Ros French & George Martin and Graeme Bone & Jill Connor - tied for second place and couldn't even be separated by taking their next-best results into account: the fairest solution would appear to be to acknowledge that there is a tie and to split the sum of 2nd and 3rd prize money between the two pairs.  Garneth Ellis and Sandy Moor finished in fourth place.

Congratulations to all four pairs, and thanks to all 21 pairs who played in the 7 qualifying sessions (4 more pairs than last season).
