Over the weekend various members of the committee have been contacted by concerned Club members about coronavirus and the risks faced by either themselves or family members.  This has culminated in the receipt of an email from the SBU cancelling any further League matches for this season.  It is with great regret, therefore, that we have decided that the Club’s season should be curtailed with immediate effect.  The current health environment is worsening, and there is no doubt that the bridge community has a relatively high average age and hence a higher-than-average risk profile.  In the light of this, and out of consideration for the health and safety of players, there will be no further meetings of the Bridge Club until the beginning of next season, in September.

The current Club competitions are therefore suspended, and we also feel that it would be unfair to award any prizes on the basis of an incomplete season, so the AGM, originally scheduled for 26 May, will now not take place.  Jane will email you a copy of the financial report.  We look forward to seeing you at the beginning of next season: meanwhile, thanks to all for your participation and support this year.  Good health and best wishes, Christine.
