As many of you will know, we have decided to cancel the Congress next month. This is obviously disappointing but the welfare of the bridge community, the venue staff and caterers is utmost in our minds.

We shall be refunding all entry fees and details have been sent to all entrants.

I’d like to thank all those who have spent a lot of time preparing for the day and hopefully we’ll be able to run the event next year. As a consolation for those who hate to miss their bridge, Paul is planning to run two pairs tournaments on Bridge Base Online on Sunday 26 April: he will distribute details later.

At the moment the club will continue to meet but it is a developing situation and we will continue to keep a close eye on what is happening locally together with advice given by the government.
