Peter and Sarah win Pearson Pot on countback!

There was a tense finish in the final round of the Pearson Pot last night.

Sarah Davidson and Peter Calder needed to finish in the top two places to stand a chance of beating Christine McCreath and Mike Rowell, but also needed to finish at least a place higher than them.

Sarah and Peter finished were the top East-West pair on the evening and it looked good for them as Christine and Mike were third.

But it is a handicapped event, so these were applied to the scratch results but Christine and Mike could only move up to second place. This left both pairs tied for first place in the Pearson Pot standings with two wins and two second places each.

Prize money is shared but the fifth result for each pair decides the trophy winners. Sarah and Peter had a fourth place and Christine and Mike a fifth, so Sarah and Peter will take the trophy home from the AGM.
